We helped at the Hippo and Calf again this year, offering pre and post race massage to the runners. The weather wasn’t quite Grizzly standard with snow, however it was bitter cold and plenty of rain! About 200 runners took on the course this year, returning absolutely covered in mud and soaked through! We love to support these local events where and when we can! Hope to see you again next year!
This years race was certainly a different one! With the full event being cancelled due to heavy snow, a reduced version of the Cub still took place! Runners took on 8.9 miles of snowy blizzards across the local cliffs! 1300 runners still endured the weather in true Grizzly fashion! We didn’t see any massage this year due to the weather but were happy to provide shelter with our gazebo at the finish line! See you next year!
With thanks to all of those runners who donated at this years Grizzly, the Devon Air Ambulance has now received enough funding and planning approval for a night flight landing spot in Seaton! We managed to raise £500 for the cause, along with other donations making it possible from local organisations. Hopefully the lighting will not have to be used too often but it is great to know the lights are there if needed.
Congratulations to Alex Lane who we sponsor, becoming the English badminton senior singles champion today and also his brother Ben for mixed doubles champion! Alex has been working extremely hard whilst studying at university in Bath, it has all paid off to take this title! Well done Alex, we looking forward to the next Olympics!
We were happy to sponsor and offer our services again at this years Hippo race! It was a great day, the sun was beating down and a great turnout of all abilities and ages! We had Chloe and Grace helping out with some post race massage, keen students from Exeter College studying their Sports Therapy Degree! We look forward to being involved again next year!
With a severe injury like David Hayes achilles rupture, only the best treatments are used to get top athletes back to full fitness as fast as possible! David Haye has to have surgery on his achilles tendon which was then rehabilitated using the same PBM system as our own. This will greatly increase the healing rate and reduce any scar tissue which may of caused future issues!
A big thanks to the team of therapists that helped with this years event. Between us we raised £600 for Devon Air Ambulance. The weather was perfect running conditions all day until we had to pack up! As usual a great atmosphere and we look forward to supporting the event again next year as a main sponsor.
We are happy to announce that we will now be working alongside the flamingo pool’s hydrotherapy unit with local GP referrals, an excellent service for many injuries which may include; instructor led aqua gym sessions, group mobility sessions and group mobility hydro sessions. For more information please contact either ourselves or the flamingo pool in Axminster. This is a great service and a fantastic opportunity for many people, we look forward to seeing some positive results!
We were honoured to be invited to the VIP opening of Seaton’s new LED gym facility. The gym spacious with plenty of room for both machine based and free weighted exercise. There is also a variety of CV workout equipment and a studio for classes such as circuits, yoga, spinning and body pump. It will be a great asset to the town, we just recommend that you warm up, cool down and stretch well to minimise injuries!
We are again proud to announce we will be a main sponsor for The Grizzly in 2017! We look forward to seeing you there at the start and finish line as normal, remember to warm up, cool down and stretch with your training!
